  3. Hi!

That is so cool that you are from Brazil, I am half-Brazilian. My mom was born and raised in Minas Gerais! My stepfather is also Brazilian, he is from Rio. I always get really excited to meet Brazilians, because sometimes they are hard to find! I have only been to Brazil once, but my family and I plan on visiting soon (hopefully). I only speak some portuguese, but I love the language and wish I was better at it. The way you described your communicating through kicking during your mom's pregnancy reminds me of my mother, because she often makes deep metaphorical relations between things, and she always relates ideas back to her family. This reminds me of how compassionate and family-oriented the Brazilian people are, I love it and am very proud to be half-Brazilian.
I hope you have a great semester and look forward to working with you in the future! ciao ciao :)

  4. Hi Tulip,

Thank you! :) Yes, I am really proud of being Brazilian! Oh really? How nice! I have never been in Minas, but I know Rio de Janeiro. Were you born? Which State of Brazil did you visit?
Well, Brazilian Portuguese is a very particular language, given its rich details. It takes time to learn it. But keep trying and you will master it. Feel free to communicate with me in Portuguese (through email). It might help you as well.
Oh yes, Brazilians are extremely family-oriented. Thanks for noticing that. We are not perfect, but we are very happy and embracing people as well. That is why those who visit Brazil once, feels like coming back over and over again.
I wish you the same: good luck on COMM105!

    Tchau! :-)
